Sustainable Development Technology Canada (“SDTC”) is an arm’s-length foundation created by the Government of Canada which has received $1.05 billion as part of the Government’s commitment to create a healthy environment and a high quality of life for all Canadians.

Funds

SDTC operates two funds aimed at the development and demonstration of innovative technological solutions:

•SD Tech Fund™ - a $550 million fund supporting projects that address climate change, air quality, clean water, and clean soil

•NextGen Biofuels Fund™ - a $500 million supports the establishment of first-of-kind large demonstration-scale facilities for the production of next-generation renewable fuels

Total invested capital to-date, with capital from not only SDTC but from co-investors, totals in excess of $1.3bn. The total portfolio size is 182 investees covering the full and comprehensive range of primarily GHG focused investments, making SDTC the largest portfolio of its kind in the world.

Vision

SDTC, a stakeholder in Tangerine Tango, works with the company to pursue the best interests of portfolio enterprises and the Foundation’s objectives. Under development since October 2008, this initiative has been fine-tuned to provide portfolio companies across the country with a thoughtfully assembled cross-section of tools and skills to accelerate company performance, both domestically and internationally.
